Any business person who is selling food items or preparing food items having daily business turnover within three thousand or monthly business turnover within 1 lakh and yearly business turnover within 12 lakhs, the person who falls under the above said condition should make a basic registration in FSSAI. For example: small Candy marts, small Tiffin Centre, street vendors, small Chinese food, a small vegetable shops, tea and snacks shops etc.,
There are two types in state license and they are;
Any person who is managing food items business having daily business turnover greater than four thousand or monthly business turnover greater than 1 lakh or yearly business turnover greater than 12 lakhs should make a state license.
Examples: hotels, restaurants, bar and restaurants, bakeries, supplier who supplies food items(distributors), wholesalers, retailers, Dhaba, clubs and canteens.
Any companies preparing or manufacturing food items or personally preparing food items entities having their own name as a brand and using it to prepare and pack the food items should necessarily have to make this license.
Examples: chocolate manufacturers, masala manufacturers, biscuits manufacturers, coffee and tea powder manufacturers etc.,
Any business person who is taking food items from farmers or other manufacturer entities and keep his company brand name to pack food items, that person should necessarily has to make repack license.
Examples: food grains packed and displayed in super markets; food items being packed by wholesale shops to sell.
Any business person who takes food items from the other manufacturer entity and keeps his company’s name to pack and sell the items. That person has to make relabeller license to these food items. Examples: water purifiers, masala items, honey.
Any food entrepreneur having business turnover more than 20 crores and medicine items related yield business or manufacturing entities and export or import of food items from the companies should necessarily make central license. Examples:
